Keynote: Defending Your Faith in an Age of Unbelief

In our modern culture we are constantly faced with challenges to our Faith. One such challenge is the idea that belief in God is mere child’s play and that real knowledge lies in science, which many assert has disproved the need for God. In this talk, Karlo Broussard will explain how we as Christians can respond to this challenge and show that God is not merely a children’s fantasy or an imaginary friend but that He is real. He will also show how science, rather than disproving the need for God, actually points to the need for God.

Workshop 1 (2x’s): Dispelling Doubt: A How-To Approach in Answering Atheism

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states in paragraph 2123 that atheism is regarded as “one of the most serious problems of our time.” In this workshop, Karlo Broussard will offer a how-to approach on answering the challenge of atheism to give reasonable evidence for God’s existence.

Workshop 2 (2x’s): Is Man More than Matter? (2 x’s)

In modern society the human being is considered nothing more than a conglomeration of atoms without any sort of immaterial soul that survives bodily death. This is a major challenge to the Christian Faith since one of the tenets of Christian belief is life after death. In this workshop, Karlo Broussard will explain how we can reasonably demonstrate that human beings have an immaterial soul that lives on after death and gives human beings a transcendent dignity.

Workshop 3 (2x’s): The Historical Jesus: God-Man or Mere Prophet?

Is Jesus God or is He a mere prophet? This is a question that has been asked and debated for centuries dating all the way back to the very beginnings of Christianity. The denial of Jesus as God is a common belief within our contemporary culture. In this workshop, Karlo Broussard will demonstrate why belief in Jesus as the God-Man is the most reasonable position to take. He will consider the historical evidence for the claims of Jesus to be Divine and His resurrection from the dead.
